It is with the greatest of pleasure that we present our 100th release. A remix of Eudaimonia’s Uroboros is befitting for the occasion, a collaboration between Eudaimonia, label founder Nick Coleman and Düsseldorf singer Julika Elizabeth.

The vocal session from Julika, recorded by the legendary German engineer Peter Krick, was to be the catalyst and inspiration for Coleman’s remix. Recorded in one takes, Julika lay down every part in an hour, without a single retake. Her aura and energy in the session was truly captivating, powerful & transcendental 🤯The Hindu mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” she performs is a popular passage to further know and understand your own self.

Eudaimonia’s Uroboros is an eternal cycle and ultimately the cause of this chain of events. His remix parallels a similar philosophical after thought, the process of going back around, conjuring a new interpretation to further know and understand oneself.

Our last release for the year ’Skyline’ is the second single from label founder Nick Coleman’s forthcoming live album. The album is the result of two years pre-production, research, development and innovation at the forefront of electronic music technology and live performance.

“As part of my live performance I developed a method of playing electronic sounds using the violin. Skyline was the first song where I was able to perform and record all melodies live. Once I have both hands on the violin it becomes difficult to control almost all aspects of a song. For the time being I am using pedals, body movements and gestures to control sound parameters (for example the filter on the acid arpeggiator). In the not so distant future these parameters will be controlled by brainwaves. When I want the filter to open up, I will think the action and it will happen” – Nick Coleman

The second single ‘Skyline’ is out now with the album to be released the 22nd January, 2021.

Label founder Nick Coleman’s forthcoming album is the result of two years pre-production, research, development and innovation at the forefront of electronic music technology and live performance.

In 2017 Coleman programmed software enabling him to play synthesisers and iOS instruments using the violin, becoming the first violinist in the world to achieve this. Pioneering synthesiser makers Moog and Elektron invited Coleman to beta test their software and iOS synths, as he forges ahead, re-defining the possibilities of electronic music and live performance.

SUK83 | Suckmusic 10 Years

14th August 2020

The unprecedented circumstances the world has faced this year as a result of COVID-19 have impacted every aspect of our lives and changed the world as we know it.  It is still uncertain when things will begin to resemble some sort of normality in the music and hospitality industry and then, once it eventually gets going, what that will look, feel and sound like. it.

As a record label we will continue to do what we have been doing for the past 10 years and release new and interesting music. Given that most of the label and artist income is generated from the performance of our songs by DJ’s who play the songs at clubs and festivals, our artists have seen their income decimated as these events have ground to a halt. Many artists have also been overlooked by governments and most do not received any kind of income support despite the challenges they now face. Therefore at Suckmusic we will look to exhaust all alternative avenues to support artists signed to our label through this extremely challenging time.

We understand that many people are doing it tough at the moment, but if you have enjoyed our music over the years or can appreciate and respect just how important a vibrant electronic music culture is and you have a little to spare, your support will mean everything and will help our artists make ends meet until the show literally gets back on the road and income starts coming back in again. Every person who donates will be invited to join our exclusive Suckmusic Pre-release Promotional List and be granted early access to all future label releases for the next 10 years, along with download links to the Suckmusic 10 Year DJ mixes upon its release in August. GoFundMe Campaign

The funds we received will be distributed equally between the 8 artists who have an agreement with the label (excluding label founder Nick Coleman who is also a signed artist), and we hope to achieve our goal of $10,000 by October.

In addition, to mark our 10th year in what has been an extraordinary 2020, we briefly pause for reflection before looking into the future. So it is with the greatest of pleasure that we present to you the labels first mix compilation – Suckmusic 10 Years. This compilation of music, presented in the form of 2 DJ mixes and a Coda, embodies everything the label was, is and will continue to be. A big thank you to Spacey Space, Mount Mike and label founder Nick Coleman, who’s mixes encapsulate the musical depth and diversity of the label’s 150+ song catalogue and first 10 years.

For the remainder of 2020, 100 percent of Suckmusic’s share of sales of this compilation will be donated to all artists who’s songs appear on the Suckmusic 10 Year mix compilations.

Thank you and party on.

Today, Nick Coleman’s hit Faces of Meth continues to be played in clubs and festivals around the world. The anthem was voted into the IntheMix Top 100 Greatest Australian Dance songs of all time and remained in the ARIA club charts for an astonishing 37 weeks, finishing at number 11 in the Top 50 Club Tracks of 2008. 2019 will see three new official remixes of the club club track plus, a promo only exclusive download link to the original stems.

A not so secret weapon for their own sets, The Market Memories main stage mix has rocked festivals and clubs over the Australian summer. This modern update delivers in every respect and has been a highlight of the MM boys sets at the Beyond the Valley and Rainbow Serpent festivals amongst others. We have never received so many requests asking for a copy of any track prior to release! You only have to check out this footage of the boys playing it for the first time at BYO to see why! https://www.facebook.com/marketmemoriesmusic/videos/220361865552011/

Holmes John is on fire at the moment, with tracks sitting in the Beatport Tech House Top 10 Charts and global support from tastemakers Fisher, Jacky, The Aston Shuffle, Mark Knight, Dom Dolla, Roger Sanchez, Yousef, Mihalis Safras, Maximono & Paul Woolford. His mix is surely going to wreak havoc across European and US festivals in the upcoming summer. This massive techno version is perfectly executed and is a testament to Holme’s exceptional production and arrangement skills.

Made In Paris has toured the US, been a Triple J Mix Up resident and has had support from techno luminaries Sven Vath, Maceo Plex and Tiga. Her remix is a darker seductive remix. The highlight of this version is the abbreviation of the main theme. It leaves the call without a response which entices the listener to follow or answer the question in another way, whilst invoking a similar mystique to that of the Coleman’s original.

Mike Metro continues to forge a unique sound within the Melbourne dance music scene. Himi Jendrix fuses an obscure interview from the legendary guitarist with a straight to it 3 piece house setup. Bass, piano and kit jam a late night, smoke hazed jazz club kinda of feel. Asahi please…2.

This is the first release of any kind Nick Coleman has penned his named to since January 2012. A massive Hendrix fan, Coleman appears to have gone all EXP on the remix, referencing the opening of Jimi’s 1967 album Axis: Bold As Love.
