Ryan Riback

Tiesto, Steve Aoki, Joachim Garraud, Alex Gaudino, DJ Chuckie, TV Rock… just some of the names who have made some space in their record bags for the countless productions and remixes that are Ryan Riback.

He started his career inhis hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa at the tender age of 16, teaching himself to mix records after seeing a friends older brother djing in nightclubs. “My love for dance music started much earlier” says Riback, “My first real dance record that I owned was ‘2 Unlimited – No Limits’ when I was 10. I knew then that dance music was going to be a part of my life for a very long time”.

After moving to Melbourne, Australia in 2006, Ryan settled in and got straight to work. Building his name through countless remixes and originals, all gaining support from DJs at home and especially around the globe.

The international labels and artists have really started to grab onto Ryan’s sound, with remixes for the likes of Joachim Garraud, Nari & Milani, Don Diablo, DJ Dan, Tim Deluxe, JELO, Larry Tee, Magik Johnson, Analog People in a Digital World, Kaz James (Bodyrockers) & Macy Gray, MC Flipside, TV Rock & Zoe Badwi, Studio B, Sebastien Bennet and DJ Rockid.

His original works have also made a dent in global dance music. His most recent track “Make Me Go” reached #13 in the UK DMC Buzz Chart and #17 in the Music Week Cool Cuts Chart. Support from artists such as Groove Armada, ATFC, Funkagenda, Jerome Isma-Ae, Lys and Cicada.

The Police” aka “The Fuzz” with Australian native Tom Piper received great global dj support and radio airtime from Kissy Sell Out (BBC Radio1), which saw it being picked up by mega label ‘Houseworks Germany’, home to acts such as Thomas Gold, Fuzzy Hair, Player & Remady and DJ Antoine.

But his biggest accomplisment so far was when the legendary Pete Tong (BBC Radio 1) featured his co production “In My Bedroom” with Italian producer J Nitti on his Bedroom Bedlam Show. This immediately got the attention of iconic house label Azuli Records who signed it straight away. The track has since been picked up by relatively new, but industry pioneers Hotfingers Records, run by Manuel de la Mare and Alex Kenji.

2011 has just begun, but be prepared… there is a lot more Ryan Riback still to come.
